I Did It !

I am so excited!!!! I was just going to let everyone know I will be out of town for a week but I have to tell this story. I have not lost much weight lately but I keep eating right, walking, yoga, and lifting weights. The scales aren’t moving but I feel so much better, stronger, leaner. So today I decided to try doing something I have never had the nerve to do before. Heck even my DH gets nervous when its time to do it… Change the dreaded air conditioner filter! I know this sounds like no big deal, but the crazy person who built this house put the vent at the top of the only room with 15 ft ceiling. To reach it, my DH who is 6ft 3 has to extend our ladder to its fullest which makes it very shaky, while I am putting all my considerable weight on the bottom half of the ladder to keep it steady while he slowly nervously makes his way up. Then you have to lean over sideways, unlatch the vent, pull out the old filter and force the new one in that is always some how too big. All while keeping one hand on the top of the shaky ladder. Well today I did it ! Little 5ft 2 me! I said to myself if you can do Tae Bo you can do anything. Its all about balance and core strength. I Founf out the ladder was only shaky because my husband was so shaky! When he got home from work he couldnt believe it. The old me could not have lifted the ladder without straining my back, the new me used my stronger muscles and not my back. The new me had yoga balance and didnt make the ladder shake. The new me had a hard time being humble today!!!!!!!!!!!!

My goodness Dee! You could have been seriously hurt. It’s fine to be fit, but if you hurt yourself you couldn’t work out at all! I’m glad you feel stronger, and your confidence is obviously at an all time high, but please, make sure DH is there when you do it again. At least he could break your fall and call 911. The new you is out of her freakin mind. (sorry, the mom, granny in me comes out in emergency situations ;) I am proud to see you down 20 lbs, even if I don’t always say it. Have fun on your trip.

What courage and strength! I think that some of these people dont consider maitenance. We have a light that I cant reach and I dont want to put the ladder on the stairs. It must have felt great to feel the improvements in your body’s performance.

That’s it. You are unstoppable. What’s next?

These are my favorite quotes about marriage… ENJOY!

    Frank Herbert
    Favorite Quotes: Joyce Brothers:
My husband and I have never considered divorce… murder sometimes, but never divorce.

    Oscar Wilde:
Marriage is the triumph of imagination over intelligence. Second marriage is the triumph of hope over experience.

Any intelligent woman who reads the marriage contract, and then goes into it, deserves all the consequences. ~Isadora Duncan

    Rita Rudner:
I think men who have a pierced ear are better prepared for marriage. They’ve experienced pain and bought jewelry.

You should never kiss a girl unless you have enough bucks to buy her a big ring and her own VCR, ’cause she’ll want to have videos of the wedding. ~Jim, age 10

You go girl! I do have to agree with Sandy though! Please the next time make sure hubby is there!
Doesn’t it feel great accomplishing things we never before felt confident doing. We are doing some home repairs and I am learning new things that I never thought I could do before!
    Have a week!

That’s wonderful that your confidence is soaring. Keep up the good work! We all seem to hit plateaus from time to time, but I think for a lot of us , it’s more about a healthy lifestyle, and you are certainly reaping the benefits of all your hard work. I’m thinking about getting on the roof this year to paint the dormer. It’s something that would have been impossible last year. Sandy has a good point though….it would be a good idea to have someone there to break your fall in case the ladder slipped. Hard to do tae-bo in a cast. :)

DEEEEEEE!!!! I am so proud of you for having the confidence to do something like that. While I agree you shouldn’t have done it while no one was around, it was a major thing to do and what’s really important is the confidence that you had to do it! Woohoo!

OOOHHHH MMYY GGOODD!!! Please don’t do that again…lol….not cuz I don’t think you can, but cuz it terrified me just picturing you on the top of a shakey ladder…lol I’m soo scared of heights…lol

However, I am very happy to hear of your stronger, healthier body. Great job!!

Now that sounds like something I would do…and I have this “little” thing about heights, no less. You proved to yourself, that you have gotten more fit and stronger, and that in itself, outweighs the risks, although, yes…me too..I was on the edge of my seat reading that and praying, that you didn’t get hurt. Thank God for that…now have a good trip, and keep off ladders for a while, will ya?..Thanks! :P

Wow Dee, I’m so proud of you! You’re a brave girl, congrats on creating the new you!! I can see you’re seeing changes now and of course you’re way leaner and healthier than before, you should consider to prize your self ;-) you deserve it! You should start buying some really pretty things for this new you, pamper yourself a little ;-) it won’t hurt anyone! Besides… this doesn’t happen every day! but many things like this will start happening now on… so get used to it =D

Dee, I am afraid of heights so kuddos! to you for sure. Isn’t it amazing how we realize our weight loss success on so many different levels and each one is so rewarding? All of our hard work was not in vain after all!
